SH-249 Pump Station Buildings Package | NHCRWA | Houston, TX

RAVA Construction was the Buildings Package for the North Harris County Regional Water Authority (NHCRWA) SH-249 Pump Station project by prime contractor Five Companies. The project—located in North Houston, Texas—had a subcontract value of approximately $6.6 Million; and was part of an overall project valued at $102 Million.

The project included the construction of four new masonry and precast concrete buildings including the pump building, maintenance building, bulk storage building and electrical building. The buildings had a robust design intended to withstand both hurricane and seismic loads; and to ensure a long-life cycle for all the building components. The overall facility now pumps drinking water from the new Houston Northeast Water Plant to additional NHCRWA service areas adjacent to the facility location near the intersection of SH-249 and Beltway 8.

The project has an accelerated schedule with the RAVA portion of work substantially completed by September 2024.
