Wylie Water Treatment Plant Campus Biologically Active Filtration – Design Package I
RAVA Construction has been awarded the prime contract for the construction of the Wylie Water Treatment Plant Campus Biologically Active Filtration for the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD), designed by Carollo Engineers. The project—located in Wylie, Texas—has a contract value of approximately $22.4 Million.
This project is located primarily at the Wylie Water Treatment Plant III with minor construction at the Wylie Water Treatment Plant II. The scope of work includes a chemical metering vault, large diameter pipe demolition and new large diameter pipe installation, interconnection of new large diameter piping with existing piping, new chemical feed piping and chemical trenching, and associated instrumentation and controls modifications at the Wylie WTP III. The work at Wylie WTP II includes modifications to the instrumentation and controls only.
The project will begin in November 2024 and is expected to be completed in November 2026. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with the North Texas Municipal Water Department, as this will be our fourth project with NTMWD and the City of Wylie.
Sagemont Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements for the City of Houston
RAVA Construction has been awarded the prime contract for the construction of improvements to the Sagemont Wastewater Treatment Plant for the City of Houston. The project—located in Houston, Texas—has a contract value of approximately $18.3 Million.
This project will be completed in two phases. Phase I is for the construction of the new Sagemont Transfer Lift Station. Phase II is for the decommissioning and abandonment of the old Sagemont Wastewater Treatment Plant once the new Sagemont Transfer Lift Station and Sagemont Force Main begin to successfully transfer flow from the Sagemont Wastewater Treatment Plant to the Southeast Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project has an expected start date of late October 2024 and is estimated to finish in April of 2026.
Stein Falls Water Reclamation Facility for the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority
RAVA Construction has been awarded the prime contract for the construction of the Stein Falls Water Reclamation Facility for the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA). The project—located near New Braunfels, Texas—has a contract value of approximately $32.7 Million.
This project involves improvements to pretreatment, secondary treatment, post-treatment, solids handling, electrical, SCADA, administration building, and support systems to expand the facility from an existing 0.95 million gallons per day (MGD) facility to a new design capacity of 1.90 MGD to provide improved wastewater treatment capacity for the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority.
The project will begin in late October 2024 and is expected to be completed in June 2027.
Jefferson Water Treatment Plant High Service Pump Station for the City of Laredo
RAVA Construction has been awarded the prime contract for the construction of the Jefferson Water Treatment Plant West High Service Pump Station and 30-Inch / 36-Inch Discharge Line for the City of Laredo. The project—located in Laredo, Texas—has a contract value of approximately $11.65 Million.
The scope of work includes construction of a new West High Service Pump (WHSP) Facility to replace the existing WHSP in the Jefferson Water Treatment Plant (WTP), replace 30-inch / 36-inch Discharge Line, structural modification of the existing Clearwell number 1 underground storage tank, and modification of yard piping. Associated improvements include instrumentation and controls, electrical wiring and conduit replacement, structural repairs, paving, and site improvements.
The project will begin in December of 2024 and is expected to be completed in August 2026.
SH-249 Pump Station Buildings Package for the NHCRWA
RAVA Construction has been awarded the Buildings Package for the North Harris County Regional Water Authority (NHCRWA) SH-249 Pump Station project by prime contractor Five Companies. The project—located in North Houston, Texas—has a subcontract value of approximately $6.6 Million; and is part of an overall project valued at $102 Million.
The project includes the construction of four new masonry and precast concrete buildings including the pump building, maintenance building, bulk storage building and electrical building. The buildings have a robust design that is intended to withstand both hurricane and seismic loads; and to ensure a long-life cycle for all the building components. The overall facility will pump drinking water from the new Houston Northeast Water Plant to additional NHCRWA service areas adjacent to the facility location near the intersection of SH-249 and Beltway 8.
The project has an accelerated schedule with the RAVA portion of work to be completed at the end of 2022.
Tarrant County Water Supply Project for the Trinity River Authority
RAVA Construction has been awarded the Tarrant County Water Supply Filter Rehabilitation and Improvements Project by the Trinity River Water Authority of Texas. The project—located in Euless, Texas—has a contract value of approximately $32.2 Million.
The contract includes rehabilitation of an 87 MGD water treatment plant regionally providing treated water service to a population of approximately 245,000. RAVA will rehabilitate the existing 24 dual media filters; replace underdrains, media, and wash troughs; and construct a new chlorine contact basin. Likewise, the project includes structural work, improvements to the filter gallery, Plant Control System upgrades, instrumentation and SCADA modifications, replacement of Caustic Feed Pumps, construction of chemical containment trenches, and installation of new chemical piping at various locations throughout the plant site.
Work begins in February 2023, with an estimated completion date of July 2025.
Northwest Water Facility Project for the City of Wichita
RAVA Construction has partnered with QD Construction Services, LLC for the completion of the Northwest Water Facility (NWWF) Project in Wichita, Kansas. Together, RAVA and QD were awarded a subcontract for the NWWF Project. Located in Sedgwick County, the NWWF project was awarded by Wichita Water Partners—a joint venture of Alberici and Burns & McDonnell completing this buildings package for the City of Wichita. The subcontract is valued at $11.4 Million and has eight remaining packages out for bid through RAVA Construction.
Awarded under the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery method, the scope of work includes the construction of the Chemical Feed Building and Disinfection Building at the Northwest Water Facility. The project broke ground on May 16th, 2022, and has a substantial completion date of June 30th, 2023.
Wylie Water Treatment Plant II Structural and Mechanical Improvements—Phase II S-08 and S-09
RAVA Construction has been awarded two packages for the Wylie Water Treatment Plant II Structural and Mechanical Improvements– Phase II Projects S-08 and S-09 by MWH Constructors, construction managers for the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD.) The projects— located in Wylie, Texas— have a value of approximately $12.5 million.
Package S-08: Clearwell 3-1
The S-08 contract includes the demolition and structural rehabilitation of Clearwell 3-1. RAVA will be replacing the 240-foot diameter concrete dome to comply with new standards, providing interim bypass / mechanical work, installing new mechanical components, and installing 10,000 sq. feet of FRP baffle walls. Work begins in October of 2022, with an estimated completion date of April 15th, 2024.
Package S-09: Filter & Settled Water Flume
The S-09 contract includes demolition of existing expansion joints, repairs, and improvements for Filter 20-21 and Settled Water Flume at WTP II. This work includes 1) construction joints between filters, 2) replacement of sections of wall and roof in the filter galleries, 3) removal and replacement of the new filter underdrains and filter media, and 4) relocation of wash water troughs and backwash flume.
The project has a complex phasing plan, with work beginning November of 2022, and estimated completion date in January of 2024.

The project— located in Wylie, Texas— has a subcontract value of approximately $12.74 Million.
Package S-01: Clearwell 2-3 & 2-4
The contract includes the demolition and structural rehabilitation of Clearwells 2-3 and 2-4. RAVA will be replacing two 240-foot diameter concrete domes to comply with new standards, providing interim bypass/ mechanical work, installing new mechanical components, and installing 35,000 sq. feet of FRP baffle walls.
The project has a complex phasing plan with the construction of the first Clearwell in 2022 and the second in 2023. The project will begin work November 1st, 2021, with projected completion March 31st, 2024.
